The reason why some people who love to fish are so secretive when it comes to their favorite fishing spots. This is because they know that it is an area in which they’re more or less guaranteed to catch something, as opposed to standing in the water or sitting in the boat for hours without anything.
However that could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to PowerVision who have recently announced the PowerRay. This is an underwater drone that thanks to its sensors, will be able to detect fish. According to the company, “PowerRay features an optional add-on component, PowerRay Fishfinder, which leverages sonar system to detect fish with precision and sends images of fish and underwater landscape, temperature data, as well as alerts to users through internal Wi-Fi to enable fishermen to make spontaneous decisions.”
In addition to being able to detect fish, it also comes with its own built-in WiFi that beams videos and images captured by its 4K camera back to an accompanying smartphone app. There is also a luring light that is meant to attract fish to it, as well as an optional remote-controlled bait drop that places tasty treats at the desired location.
PowerVision expects that their PowerRay drone will be available for pre-order on the 27th of February. No word on pricing, but given its features we don’t expect that it will come cheap.
