The acrobatic melee and staff-wielding combat imagery of kung-fu movies haven’t been seen much in games since Jade Empire‘s wuxia-inspired combat but 9 Monkeys of Shaolin looks to change that with its fast-paced brawling and familiar imagery of 70s martial arts movies.
As Wei Cheng , you embark on quest to avenge your murdered fishing village, traveling from bamboo forests to monasteries to ancient ruins in search of the pirates that committed the act. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin lets you unleash your vengeance up close and personal through its three-tier melee system, a combination of ground combos, juggles and mid-air blows, and mystical attacks. Special perks and items enhance your fighting prowess, while staffs and polearms lets you acrobatically strike from afar, flipping your staff around your body to deliver devastating moves.
If punching your way through enemies starts feeling lonely, you can also fight alongside a friend in local co-op.
