Display holes, or notches as they are also popularly referred to, have become increasingly popular in the smartphone industry. What started off as a way to maximize screen real estate and shrink down bezels has evolved into a trend that often results in some unconventional design decisions. Leaked videos of an alleged Asus ZenFone 6 prototype indicates that Asus might be aiming more for the latter than the former for their next flagship.

According to videos and photos posted by, the upcoming ZenFone 6 (2019) may sport a display hole akin to the Essential PH-1 to house the front camera. What separates this smartphone from other phones with display notches is the bizarre design choice to not centre the notch.
