One of Microsoft’s new first-party studios, The Initiative, has been staffing up, and it just acquired a game director formerly from Insomniac Games.

Drew Murray recently announced on Twitter that the former Insomniac developer has started working at The Initiative. Murray’s previous credits include game director for Sunset Overdrive (which just went live for PC on Steam) and lead designer on Resistance 3, as well as designer on both earlier Resistance titles.

Murray isn’t the first developer to move from another major studio over to The Initiative. The Microsoft studio previously hired former Rockstar technical director Tom Shepherd, whose credits include technical director on Grand Theft Auto V and Max Payne 3 and multiplayer lead on Red Dead Redemption.
