The NPD has finally settled the battle between Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 in terms of sales numbers, and the winner is the video game industry as a whole.

Black Ops 4 sold more copies than Red Dead Redemption 2 in October, but both games sold extremely well. Red Dead 2 more than tripled the previous game’s launch sales, and Black Ops 4‘s launch sales beat Call of Duty: WWII‘s and Black Ops III‘s combined launch numbers. On top of that, Black Ops 4 and Red Dead 2 have officially reclaimed their rightful places as the top-selling and second best-selling games of the year respectively. (Sorry, Far Cry 5. You had a good run.)
